What Keeps You Stuck?

What keeps you stuck? What keeps you from moving forward after an unfulfilling relationship or experience? What keeps you circling on the same merry-go-round of disappointment throughout your life?
Grievances...
Grievances are stagnant feelings from negative life experiences that have hurt you, taken from you, or disappointed you. Grievances sit in your mind, body, and spirit like a heavy weight. Over time grievances will grow like a virus to consume and block the energy that you could be using to create new, beautiful experiences. Grievances will quite literally ruin your life.
You may be unconsciously replaying and rehashing stories about how right you are and how wrong they were, or even how much you messed up that one time 10 years ago. These thoughts may bubble up at different points every single day, multiple times a day. At some point, this grievance-thinking becomes a comfort zone and an identity. You may actually be wearing this false sense of righteousness like a badge of honor, and not even realize it.
How do you stop the madness? How do you release your grievances and reclaim your power? You are one simple choice away from releasing the dead weight and freeing yourself from toxic patterns. The choice is to change your thoughts. Simply notice... what are you thinking about? Are you in grievance-mode? If so, just notice it, then choose to shift gears and let it go.
Nobody's perfect. People will hurt you. You may even hurt yourself. You get to decide whether you attach to those experiences and replay them over and over in your head, or instead, when they come up, simply say, "I'm ready to let this go." Say this over and over. In time, you will chip away at the grievances and they will take up less energy and power in your mind and your world.
The more times you shift out of grievance-mode, the lighter you will feel, the more loving, open and fun your life will become.
If you feed it, it will grow.
